Introduction to FASD
This course enables participants to understand what FASD is,the latest terminology, the prevalence, guidance from DHSC, SIGN and NICE, how FASD presents across the lifespan and how to get a FASD diagnosis. The course is interlaced with UK policy documents, academic literature and lived experience
Description
By the end of the training participants will be able to:
- Identify the risks arising from alcohol in pregnancy
- Explore FASD prevalence in the UK including high risk groups
- Understand FASD terminology including the new guidance
- Identify the behaviours and needs of someone with FASD throughout their different life stages
- Understand how to get a diagnosis
- Know where to get further information and support
