What is it: PACE is a training programme for people who work with and/or care for children and adolescents who have experienced abuse, neglect and disruptions to their primary caregiver relationship. It is rooted in Attachment Theory and is evidenced-based, especially with work with children in foster care or adopted. PACE was developed by Dan Hughes and stands for Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity and Empathy.

When a person comes to read their records, care experienced adults will want to read what has been written to support them to make meaning of the events that happened in childhood. The course has now been split to two session, for completion for this course both sessions need to be attended

The Communicating with Children and Young People course enables learners to understand how the general principles of effective communication can be applied specifically to work with children and young people. It also addresses record keeping and confidentiality in the context of communicating with children.
